This event brings together industry leaders, engineers, policy makers, and academics to explore the latest advancements, operational experiences, and best practice approaches in HVDC technology. Through a series of technical presentations, panel discussions, and networking opportunities, attendees will gain valuable insights into the challenges and solutions shaping the future of HVDC deployment.

IN-PERSON TRAINING: Introduction to HVDC and Project De-Risking
Location: The National HVDC Centre, Cumbernauld
This one-day course offers training for those seeking to understand the principles of HVDC. Participants will learn about HVDC technologies, the typical project lifecycle, delivery challenges, and simulation and testing processes. Led by experienced engineers and with practical examples, the course equips learners with the basic knowledge necessary for the HVDC workplace. This course is intended for engineers, researchers, managers, policy makers and other personnel who work or are planning to work on HVDC projects and would like to gain a deeper understanding of the technology. The course will be delivered in person at The National HVDC Centre.
Our standard training courses are available free of charge to those working in our core partners in Great Britain, which includes SPT, SSEN-T, NGET and NESO, and to those working in Ofgem and government departments, or students working with the HVDC Centre. For others, our standard courses cost £458 (exc. VAT) per person per day. There is a reduced cost of £367 (exc. VAT) for those working in other GB transmission licensees, those currently in post-graduate study or research in GB in areas relevant to HVDC, or those on a graduate training programme in GB with a company involved in HVDC.

IN-PERSON TRAINING: Introduction to Real-Time Simulation and Replicas
Location: The National HVDC Centre, Cumbernauld
We are currently revising our Introduction to RTDS course and plan to run an updated course sometime in the next few months. The current plan is to break the course into parts covering introductions to real-time simulation, the use of hardware replicas, and typical testing processes. The date and time for this training course is still to be confirmed.
