The National HVDC Centre is a collaborative real-time simulation facility which will support the feasibility, specification, testing, operation and maintenance of HVDC transmission systems and de-risk control interactions.
Our aim is to support and de-risk the deployment of HVDC schemes.
The National HVDC Centre is a purpose-built building located in Cumbernauld near Glasgow.
Studies: We undertake detailed real-time studies on the operation of HVDC (and other power electronics) ,on GB’s transmission network.
Training: We offer a range of HVDC focused training courses, and will develop bespoke courses on request.
Support: Our experts can support and advise on the design, development and operation of HVDC schemes.
Facilities: Use of our state-of-the-art meeting and training facilities.
